Indietro
Vino d'Orvieto is produced on little more than 1.700 hectares of land from the grape types trebbiano, from Tuscany, verdello, dupreggio, malvasia Tuscany and grechetto, cultivated at altitudes from the 100 to the 500 meters: it comes conserved in the traforato orvietano classic tufo: every ancient house is connected by means of cunicoli to wine cellars that lead to the outside of the cliff, so as to avoid the inevitable bandits of the medieval period. The same underground areas, covered with unique molds, are even now used for part of the aging of local wines, even if the greater production happens in modern plants with which the entire zone is studded. It must be noted finally that the wine of Orvieto has a flavorful bouquet with a slightly dry aftertaste, and its alcohol conent, about 12 degrees, does not require a long aging process. |
