The history of Bottega Michelangeli is apparently the simple one of an ancient, hand-crafted carpentry tradition that's been passed on for generations to the present day. Over the course of two centuries, none of the descendants has dared stray from the inherited art of building furniture "properly". In the fifties, Gualverio Michelangeli added a new twist to the family's artisanal tradition by starting to use pinewood, a material that, although "soft," is pliable and sincere. Horses were made, and dolls, stages, animals and mythical creatures. Without betraying tradition, he added to it an original, creative boost.
